About the Watch

The Hentschel H2 Chronometer “Ambassador” is housed in a slender three piece 18kt rose gold case that measures 28.5mm in diameter and 47mm lug to lug.  Despite the lean profile of just over 6mm, the particular case design ensures that the “Ambassador”, like all other Hentschel Chronometers withstands the stress of daily wear with ease.

The case is complemented with a flat sapphire crystal display back for a full experience of the hand wound manufacture movement.  On the front, a double domed sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating appears almost invisible atop the elegant yet ultimately legible sterling silver dial with black nautical print.  The characteristic 12 o’clock position in red print harmonically compliments the flame blued stainless steel hands with the minute and hour indication out of the center and a perfectly proportioned small seconds indication at 6 o’clock.

Like all Hentschel H2 and H2 Sport Chronometers, the “Ambassador” has remarkably condensed dial and hand tolerances of only 0.3mm.  The hand finished curvature of the minute hand travels with utter precision in this narrow space between the dial and the inside of the sapphire crystal to almost appear two dimensional.

The hand wound manufacture caliber HUW1130PUS has a power reserve of 42 hours and is developed and construed to be particularly durable.  All parts are finished and assembled by one master watchmaker in the ateliers of Hentschel in Hamburg, Germany.  The raised rose gold Chatons are secured with individual screws and thus grant an extra layer of protection for the movement’s rubies.  All wheels are and bridges are beveled and polished by hand and the mirror polish on the swan neck regulation system completes the fascinating play of the various finishes on the movement components.
